BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS: Weekly blood pressure screenings are conducted at Senior Services of Effingham County by local agencies. AUDIOLOGY SERVICE: State licensed hearing aid specialist, Deborah Gostowski is available each Thursday at the Effingham Senior Center to do free hearing tests, checkups, minor repair of ALL BRANDS of hearing aids as well as fitting for discounted hearing aids. For more information call: 347-5569. EXERCISES: One of the most popular activities at the Senior Center is the Exercise Class. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we rearrange the furniture and seniors that are young at heart gather in the activity room. It not only perks up the spirits and gives the satisfaction of knowing you’ve been good to your body, but sharing fun and laughter with the folks as you more your body. Exercise is done at your own pace and can be enjoyed by all. LINE DANCE CLASSES: Line dance classes are offered every Tuesday at the Effingham Senior Center. The advanced class meets from 10 – 11 and the beginners from 2 – 3. For more information call 347-5569. The TOPS (Take off pounds sensibly) club meets on Tuesday evening from 6 – 7 pm and Wednesdays from 9 – 10 a.m at the Effingham Senior Center – 209 S. Merchant Street, Effingham, IL 62401. Persons interested in a well rounded program of weight reduction and exercise are encouraged to attend. This group combines self-help, group therapy, recognition for weight loss and many incentives to encourage members to take off those unwanted pounds.
