The Senior Services of Effingham County offers the only exclusive transportation in Effingham County to those who are 60 or older. There is no set charge although donations are needed and certainly encouraged.
Effingham residents may ride Mini-Van I on a daily basis for their transportation needs. Schedule and time permitting. If you live in the city of Effingham, then please call the Center at 347-5569 Mini-Van II services the rest of Effingham County. The following is a schedule of the designated days for out of town riders: Wednesday: Dieterich, Montrose,Teutopolis (note - currently there is not a route for the Montrose area -we need 5 seniors in the area that request the service in order to start a route)
Van II will take persons on designated days to nutrition sites and also to other destinations. Out of town riders have the option of coming into Effingham to shop or for appointments on their designated days. Riders must be ready to leave Effingham by 2:30. All persons wishing to eat lunch at the nutrition sites must make their own reservations. If you would like to ride Mini-van II, please call the Center at 347-5569 exception to Beecher City and Shumway, you call Mabel Gordon at 618-487-5540. Mini-van offers a "Coffee Club" on Wednesday and Fridays for those living in Effingham. The Van driver will pick you up around 8:00 a.m. and take you home at 10:00 a.m. We go to local restraunts for food, coffee, and fellowship. Call 347-5569 to reserve the van for pick-up. |
